Tony Di Spigna

Tony Di Spigna was born on the island of Ischia, Italy. He has worked and been involved in nearly all aspects of visual communication. From corporate identity logos and trademarks, packaging, editorial
design, promotion graphics, point of purchase, exhibition, posters, architectural typographics, environmental graphics, film, television, and industrial graphics, as well as designing exclusive
typefaces for corporate clients and new typefaces for mass distributions in the international market.
He was a partner with the legendary studio of Herb Lubalin Associates. He has achieved international
recognition for his letterform and typographic designs. His work has won numerous awards and has been written in many books and trade publications. He has taught at The School of Visual Arts and is currently teaching in the undergraduate department at The New York Institute of Technology and the graduate design department at Pratt Institute where he received the institute-wide Distinguished Professor Award. In 2007, he was honored with a one man show of his personal work in Italy that exhibited a range of his artistic abilities from graphic art to fine art. He has lectured and continues to lecture in the United States and abroad.
He is a co-founder and partner of Thinstroke LLC. A full service design and consulting studio specializing in branding, corporate identity, and all other areas of graphic communication design. His first book, Love Letters will soon be published. He is presently designing new typefaces soon to be released by Thinstroke LLC.
