Christine Wagner

Christine Wagner was born in 1962 in Hadamar, Germany. She studied Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, focussing on typography and calligraphy. After graduating she moved to Munich to work as typedesigner in the legendary German type foundry Berthold AG. In 1987 she started working as graphic designer concentrating on Corporate Communication concepts and printmedia like annual reports, brochures, magazines, books, posters, ads and exhibitions. Since 1998 she was appointed as professor at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, teaching courses in typography, design history and design projects in
the program of Communication Design.
As coordinator for international programs within her department and as commissioner of the German Academic Exchange Service she is promoting intercultural competence among students and academics in the field of design. Workshops in different countries and cultures and joint projects in collaboration with international partners implicate inspiring and motivating experiences for incoming and outgoing exchange students. Currently she and her students are involved in the second joint design project with the Fine Art Faculty of Anadolu University.
