Bennett Peji

Bennett Peji adores San Diego and its diverse communities. He serves as a Commissioner of Arts and Culture for the City of San Diego and was 2009 Chairman of the Asian Business Association of San Diego, whose member network spans from India to the Philippines, Korea to Malaysia, and China to Laos. He serves on Mayor Jerry Sander’s Civic Leadership Team and the Boards and Commissions Advisory Group, Filipino-American Development Initiatives Board of Directors and the board of the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce.
Bennett is one of the most sought after speakers on branding. He was a featured speaker from the USA at the 2010 World Design Congress in Madrid, Spain and has spoken at over 40 conferences worldwide.
Bennett Peji became a specialist in civic branding and cross-cultural design in order to help revitalize our communities, districts and cities. He is the first and only San Diegan to have served on the national board of the AIGA, the world’s largest communications design association, with headquarters in New York and chapters in 67 cities. He is one of the co-founders of the national AIGA Center for Cross-Cultural Design and is San Diego’s first AIGA Fellow honoree (a lifetime achievement award).
Bennett is the recipient of the Arts, Business and Culture Award from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Outstanding Professional of the Year Award from the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce and the Asian Heritage Award for Cultural Preservation from Asia Media. Besides business and
community service awards, his firm has received over 200 design awards. Peji is also co-founder and regent of the Baja California Missions Foundation, founded to renovate and preserve the historic missions in Mexico, and a founding “Padrino” of the design program at CETYS University in Ensenada, Mexico.
