Ali Rıza Özcan

He graduated from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Traditional Turkish Arts in 1988. He received his MFA by his dissertation titled “Classical Period Koran’s Ornamented Pages” in 1989. And he received his sufficiency at art by his dissertation titled “Turkish School of Nes’talik” in 1996. He has his diplomas from Professor Ali Alparslan on Ta’lik, Divani, Celi Divani, Rika and from calligrapher Huseyin Kutlu on Sülüs-Nesih type forms. His master is Assistant Prof. D. Tahsin Aykutalp. He attended in several group exhibitions. His articles published in several books and magazines. He has several prizes from competition of calligraphy and ornamentation including; IRCICA (History of Islam and Research Center), lettering competitions in Japan. He was attended as research assistant at Traditional Turkish Arts Calligraphy Department. He was attended as assistant professor in 2001. He still continues his works at the same department.
