Alessandro is the typographer of Contra Mundum Press, a boutique publisher based in New York & Berlin dedicated to the value and the indispensable importance of the individual voice. The typeface Hemingway Pro designed by Segalini
was inspired by the prize winning novel The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Miller Hemingway and

Alessandro co-created ISType (Istanbul Type Seminars), a lecture and workshop series devoted to encouraging typographic literacy in Turkey. In regards to education, he believes that knowledge is constructed by the learner through action — it is mediate, not immediate. Education is a process of living, and not a preparation for future living. His interests extend across linguistics, book & editorial design, information design, typeface design, calligraphy and lettering, visual identities and designing for multiple languages.
