Abdullah Taşçı

He was born in 1945 in Develi. He started his education at the State Academy of Fine Arts in 1966. He started to work as an assistant at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Graphic Arts Department in 1972. He finished his Ph.D in 1978. He became an assistant professor in 1982. He retired from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1999. He worked at Maltepe University between 2000-2006. He is currently teaching design at Doğuş University.
He had his first solo exhibition in 1975 and participated many biennials with his posters. He started to work on fonts in 1997 and he rearranged 470 fonts for Turkish language. He has been awarded with his posters, stamp designs and especially with his logo designs numerously. Some of them are;
Logo Design Competition of Samsun Municipality first and and second prizes in 1973, Diyarbakır Dicle University Logo Design Competition first prize in 1974, Logo Design Competition of Mersin Municipality first prize in 1973, Logo Design Competition for TRT’s 25th year first prize in 1987, Logo Design Competition of Ankara Economy and Technology University second prize in 2003.
Some of his fonts are; TaşçıSerif[T], Nokta[T], Kufiz[T], Rotunda[T], BodoniElif[T], TasDub[T],TASCİ NEULAND[T].
